Pie Crust Cinnamon Rolls

  • 2 (14.1 ounce) packages refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar (optional)
  • Cream cheese frosting (optional)
  • Chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • 2. In a medium bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
  • 3. Gradually add cinnamon, mixing until evenly distributed.
  • 4. Unroll one pie crust onto a lightly floured surface and roll slightly to thin.
  • 5. Spread half of the cinnamon filling evenly over the crust, leaving a small border.
  • 6. Tightly roll the crust into a log and slice into 1-inch thick rolls.
  • 7. Arrange rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • 8. Repeat steps 4-7 with the second pie crust and remaining filling.
  • 9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • 10. Let cool slightly before adding desired toppings.
